Some call the Cabbagetown Festival the "best fall festival in downtown Toronto. Where else in the core of the city will you find corn roasts, pancake breakfasts, square dancing, arts and crafts, a parade, street dances running side-by-side with sophisticated house tours, an independent film festival, fun runs, fashion shows, theatre and dance."
I call it the biggest craft sale this side of the One Of A Kind.
Kicking off with the 14th annual Cabbagtown Short Film and Video Festival on Wednesday September 7th, things rapidly get sillier with Thursday night's pub crawl and restaurant tour.
This year, the traditional Cabbagetown Pub Crawl & Restaurant Tour starts at 6:00 pm on Thursday September 8th at Ben Wicks Restaurant & Pub. (see pg. 30 cheapeats toronto 2003/4)
The tour will then divide into smaller groups and each group will set off to a group of nearby pubs. At the end of the tour, everyone will gather again at Big Mamma's Boy where special door prizes will be distributed. Tour members buy a book of coupons and each restaurant along the tour offers appetizers and snacks that can be purchased with these coupons.
