August is filled with great festival, cultural events and of course the ever popular Beer Festival! Let’s start with that one:
August 5-8 - Toronto’s Festival of Beer
Over 120 brands of beer onsite including seasonal brews from some of our favourite local brewers. This is Canada’s premier celebration of the golden beverage!
This is a 19+ event.
August 6-8 – Taste of the Danforth
The Taste of the Danforth is a perennial favourite with locals and visitors alike. The Danforth is overrun with street vendors selling freshly grilled souvlaki, sushi and beer. People, food and fun fill the street from Broadview to Jones Avenues.
August 6-8 – Waterfront Night Market
Night Markets – where East meets West under a moonlit summer night sky. Smells of barbecue pork, beef and sizzling vegetables waft through the air. Steaming bamboo baskets invite the hungry crowds to sample from the stalls offering hot dumplings, spicy chicken or oyster pancakes and much, much more.
August 7 – Annual Corn Roast
It’s Ontario corn season and the St. Lawrence Market does corn season right! Come and enjoy complimentary hot buttered, roasted corn on the cob and join in the street fair atmosphere.
August 7-8 – Toronto Turkish Festival
Turkey takes over Toronto’s Yonge and Dundas Square with sights, sounds and aromas!
August 13-15 – Hot & Spicy Food Festival
All foods hot, spicy, sultry and sweet are explored in this weekend-long food fest. Cooking demostrations, Iron Chef competition and the Harbourfront Market all make it a great time to hang out by the waterfront and enjoy the spice of life.
August 20-22 – Fortune Cooking Food Festival
This is the first year for the Fortune Cooking Food Festival which will explore the delicious diversity of Pan Asian cuisine through demos, music, and dance.
August 20 – September 6 – CNE
The Ex signals the end of summer for many Torontonians, with ferris wheels, 99cent spaghetti, foot long corn dogs, giant stuffed iguanas, pizza on a stick, and the magic of the midway after dark.
Sure you’ve been there, done that. But is summer really complete without a night at the Ex?
August 28-29 – Toronto Chinatown Festival
Chinatown comes alive with the 10th annual Chinatown Festival celebrating Canada's diverse cultures and communities. Over 100,000 people visit its colourful display of multicultural entertainment, food, street market and community celebrations.
