The 2006 edition of Cheap Eats Toronto has hit the presses and will be lining book shelves around the city some time next week.... The book, also available online, will cost you just under 12 loonies before tax... or approx 2.5 breakfasts. If you're too cheap for even that, check out the Eat & Drink section or search "Cheap Eats" on blogTO.

Check out http://www.cheapeatstoronto.com for more information-- and make sure to get your copy when it's in stores next week! You won't regret it. In fact, even if you don't live in TO, you should get a copy, anyways, just cuz it's the cool thing to do. Oh and you should really get a Cheapeats Ottawa, too. So wander on over to your local bookstore and make them sell you one of each. Now. Stop reading and go. Now. :)

Time For a Change

Yes it's true. Not only has closed it's flagship location on Queen West, but is taking over. has already closed their Queen West location and are moving about a block further west. With a "Grand Buffet" no less.

Mangosteen

is now in the original Queen West location. Has anyone checked  out yet?  What did you think?

p.s. yah, we know the link isn't working yet, but it might be up soon.

Ginger - New Location

Yup, Ginger has opened yet another location - at the corner of Parliament & Carleton.

New Sunset Grill Location

It looks like the Sunset Grill is expanding with a new location on Yonge St. just south of Wellesley.  I wonder how this will impact  the region's long time breakfast favourite the Coach House.

Note:
both the Coach House and the Sunset Grill are solid CheapEats (pg.54 and pg.138 respectively)

PreOrder Your Copy of cheapeats toronto 2006

Hi guys,

cheapeats toronto 2006 is coming!  (And is a big part of why there was little to no activity on this blog for the last couple of months.)

It will be available in most independent bookstores on February 24th like Book City, the Cookbook Store, and Pages. Indigo, Chapters and Coles will have it on their shelves sometime in March. (They are slower to get independent publications.)

However, we thought we'd give you the opportunity to preorder your copy of cheapeats toronto 2006 directly from Plethora Press.  Plethora will pay the shipping on any copies ordered from February 8-15th.
