US Restaurants announce Dine for America Day
On October 5, 2005, restaurants across the United States will be serving up "Dine for America" day, a national fundraising effort to support the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and help those affected by Hurricane Katrina and their families.
This has been spearheaded by the National Restaurant Association in the US who are also hosting the Hurricane Katrina Restaurant Resource Center and the Hurricane Katrina Restaurant Blog. The first Dine for America event was held on October 11, 2001 to raise funds to help the victims of the September 11th attack on New York City and their families.
There's no news yet on whether the CRFA or ORHMA will encourage Canadian restaurants to participate in "Dine for America" .
